Invit Travel GmbH is a Swiss company founded by three students in 2008. Its website, weekend4two.ch, offers weekend breaks and short holidays for couples, ranging from romantic spa weekends to shopping trips. The trio have been using Google AdWords for their online business right from the outset, starting with a small budget and gradually increasing it as their sales grew by an average 20% a year. The company now employs nine people, and weekend4two.ch is Switzerland’s leading short breaks site, with 12,000 bookings a year. Its innovative range of products and high level of customer satisfaction earned it the prestigious Milestone tourism award in 2014. Managing Partner Marc Born plans to build on this momentum by expanding into neighbouring countries, and has already started operations in Austria, Germany and France. “AdWords is ideal for this kind of thing,” he says. “I can start off with a small advertising budget, and use the income to finance further expansion.”
