Online fabric store just keeps on growing
Midwife Lieselot Wellens and her nurse husband Stijn set up their own online fabric shop, Bambiblauw (which translates as “Bambi Blue”) in 2011. According to the website itself, “If you love materials, colours, pretty prints and handy sewing accessories – whether you sew yourself or want someone else to sew for you – Bambiblauw is for you.” From small beginnings, and with Google AdWords’ help, the business has grown so much that the couple have now taken on an extra pair of hands. “AdWords has given us a huge amount of name recognition,” says Lieselot. “The site started out as a hobby, but it’s become a serious business, and we couldn’t have got it off the ground without the advertising.” The company has gained more customers and more sales as a result of AdWords. Lieselot explains, “Our customers tend to be looking for the lowest prices, but we’ve managed to persuade them that our fabrics are better quality.” Lieselot has even managed to expand her business – and this is all thanks to the reputation gained via AdWords.
